Alexandre Hogue was a printmaker and teacher in Texas. He wrote to Carl Zigrosser at the time Zigrosser was working on southwestern printmakers for his Guggenheim Fellowship and his book The Artist in America. Hogue wrote to Zigrosser about his own work, the character of Texas, Texas art, artists and architecture, and his criticism of Zigrosser's writing about Texas. He regularly mentions fellow printmaker Jerry Bywaters and Peter Hurd, and the Lone Star Printmakers.
